Senior Back-end Developer (IoT / BMS)
📍 Curitiba – PR, Brazil

We are supporting a technology company specialized in IoT and Building Management Systems (BMS) in the search for a Senior Back-end Developer.
This role offers a highly technical environment, with strong focus on performance, efficiency, and scalability, working closely with international teams across the United States and Europe.
The Challenge
You will be part of the development of robust and scalable solutions for IoT devices and automation systems, operating close to hardware, industrial protocols, and distributed architectures. The work has direct impact on real-world products used at scale.
Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain back-end solutions for IoT and BMS platforms
• Work on systems requiring high performance, reliability, and efficiency
• Implement and integrate industrial communication protocols
• Collaborate with technical teams in Brazil, the US, and Europe
• Participate in architectural decisions and continuous system improvements
• Contribute to clean code practices, testing, and technical documentation
Requirements
• 7+ years of experience in software development
• Fluent English with excellent verbal communication (mandatory)
• Experience working with IoT platforms or distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with low-level programming
• Practical experience with one or more of the following:
o C / C++
o Rust
o Node.js
o Deno
• Experience with industrial protocols such as:
o BACnet
o ModBus
o KNX
o MQTT
Nice to Have
Experience with embedded systems
Strong focus on performance optimization (CPU, memory, latency)
Background in building automation or industrial automation
Experience developing systems running in mission-critical environments
Work Model
Remote-first work environment
On-site meetings once per month in Curitiba
Preference for professionals located in Curitiba or nearby regions
